Adding dance in everything is a new trend

Yes, it’s true. If you are any social media user. I don’t need to explain more. Few days back I was invited in a wedding and marriage rituals started after 2 because first groom entered dancing then bride entered dancing then they did a couple performance. Then whole family performed on an “emotional family bonding” song. At that time, I was thinking, I would have sat at home to watch any Karan Johar movie.

How dancing is embedded in everything nowadays. Once upon a time people used to dance just to enjoy. Now it’s a peer pressure to dance well in different occasions. Either it is a marriage, a birth or sometimes even a death. I have seen people jump out of their car to dance and then jump in back for some trend. So, if you want to add more views in your videos add dancing. A chef cook food while dancing, or a makeup artist doing makeup while dancing etc.

I am not saying this for every case. Like a kindergarten teacher is supposed to dance and act to engage his kids. But same is not expected from a doctor during a surgery. I am just trying to say that we should realize the difference. Infact during marriage there is a proper day fixed for dancing that is called “Sangeet day”. Utilize that day to celebrate the performances.

Why is it getting difficult to celebrate dance?

There are several reasons-

  1. Your performance is being judged every now and then due to grown up culture of showcasing everything on social media.
  2. If you don’t know then learn the steps and then dance. I believe it destroys the fun of free flow dancing.
  3. Dress well then dance well with full expressions.
  4. Now the main focus is dance rather than the ceremony itself.
  5. It seems just for the sake of following trends.

It’s time to set our priorities. What we actually want for our future. A life full of fun and real emotions or various dance performances.
